We are a well-established construction firm specializing in commercial/residential/infrastructure] projects. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist with experience handling construction subcontracts to join our accounting team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate and efficient AP processes while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
Process and manage high-volume accounts payable, specifically related to construction subcontracts.
Review, verify, and reconcile subcontractor invoices, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
Work closely with project managers and procurement teams to track subcontractor payments and approvals.
Ensure all lien waivers, insurance certificates, and compliance documents are up to date before processing payments.
Coordinate progress payments and retainage according to contract terms.
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues with subcontractors.
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and assist with month-end closing.
Assist in preparing reports related to subcontractor costs and financial performance.
Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to construction payables.
3 years of accounts payable experience in the construction industry, with a focus on subcontractor payments.
Strong knowledge of AIA billing, lien waivers, retainage, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage 300, Procore, or similar).
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, vendors, and finance personnel.
